Ms. Potter is an expert in working with dogs in my opinion and has a more humane approach to working with dogs than most pro trainers and always has a positive attitude. Prior to meeting Ms. Potter, I had a pro trainer in Kentucky work with my dog for a number of months and that trainer did not think my dog had ANY hunt test potiential.
I then took my dog to several pro trainers and they were reluctant to work with the dog stating that my dog had “limitations”. Ms.Potter agreed to take my dog and in less than 2 months of training my dog got 3 for 3 seasoned passes and one finished pass. Ms. Potter states my dog has “unbelievable” potiential and is planning on taking my dog to the Grand in October of this year. She cares about the dogs and has a more personal approach to the dogs and a sense of attachment.

Delana and To Whom It May Concern:
Casper, a Yellow Lab was born July 2003. That was the summer/fall my Step Brother Verne “Danny” Hull moved from Lexington, Nebraska to Yankton South Dakota. He purchased the dog for my Son Mark Wilcox and I, with the intentions of this being the last and final “dog training” rondevue in his life for a special step-brother and his son. The first concern Danny detected was Casper’s interest in birds and retrieving. In the spring/summer/fall of 2004 Danny had searched out dog clubs in the near proximity of Yankton, South Dakota…finding Sioux Falls to be organized and active.
Through a Sioux Falls club, Danny became acquainted with Delana Buzzard and surprisingly, found out she actually resided in the Yankton geographical area. Having found out that, they became acquainted and associated frequently with a total focus on their dog training.
Delana had a strategy (unbeknown to me) that worked 100% to the tee!"
Delana responded to Verne “Dannys’” concern of Casper’s lack of interest in birds and retrieving. From that, Verne introduced me to Delana. I have never experienced so much enthusiasm and desire to help us than she exuberated. It only took two outings with Delana, Casper and myself and all the “concerns of Danny” were gone.
Delana had a strategy (unbeknown to me) that worked 100% to the tee! At the end of a camophaged heavy duty fishing string she tied a pigeon wing. The length of the string ranged approximately 5 to 15 yards, depending on how much line you wanted to let out. The procedure was to have Casper chase the wing (in a circle). When he caught it, I would do short blasts of the whistle and have him retrieve it to me. The setting ended with high praises. The procedure was executed again. It wasn’t long and Casper was “hot after the wing” every time. Variations of distance and how quickly the catch was made were worked in. The result was a dog “hungry” to get the FEATHERED WING…knowing upon securing it in his mouth and returning it to me would result in high praises.
To this day, Casper “CHARGES” all retrieves…”thank you” Delana! Keep up the good work in helping ALL improve their dogs!

I bought my dog with an exceptional pedigree and trained her with beginning handling myself. I went to Colorado on vacation for two weeks and decided to leave my dog with a pro trainer to get her lining better while I was gone.
When I returned, my dog was ruined. She was shaking in her kennel, would lay down submissively at the line, would not look out for birds, and had totally lost any style in her retrieve. A friend of mine recommended Delana to me and with no other real options, I gave her a go.
Delana turned the dog completely around and got a seasoned pass on my dog. She now sits up at the line and delivers the birds right, she has drive, desire and style. I was amazed at the miracle change in my dog.
